Adrienne - the sister.

Adrienne was the big sister I needed and wanted. Having a big brother was great – some of his friends were pretty good looking ;) – but Adrienne was inspiring, showing me that girls could be independent and capable of doing all that boys could. Her no-nonsense attitude and beliefs made her an easy friend to have. I remember the time we hitch hiked together from Dundee to Liverpool (whilst Jack paired with my boyfriend Neil). Her wisdom and courage kept us safe on the road and she was a great travelling companion. We had fun with ponies and she helped me to get Mum, Dad and Jack on to horses at Conchies in Barry. Fun times! As a young woman, Adrienne was impressive in the kitchen, producing meals for many from the simplest ingredients at little notice. As time went on, she increased her repertoire and was so very happy and content when feeding family and friends nourishing and delicious meals. When Chris and Hannah came along, Adrienne’s life was understandably and visibly fulfilled. Her dedication and love as a mother was obvious to all. The children were her world - and yet, she was always the loyal, caring wife to my brother. They were a team, bringing up their children in an equal partnership, passing on the very best of values and making memories that would last a lifetime. Thank you, Adrienne, for the happy times, the adventures, inspiration and the love. Carole
